Sorry for the delay, folks, but the Christmas season crept up on us, as a matter of fact, we're down one crew member on this away mission (Craig J. most likely abandoned ship to finish his shopping), but Big Sexy and your captain Qstorm, are up for the challenge. We break down the latest trailer for the upcoming season of Discovery, but first, we discuss an...ample topic...regarding a photo of the lovely Deanna Troi herself, Ms. Marina Sirtis with co-star Patrick Stewart. Q wants to know if it's live or Memorex (Big Sexy speaks on another Pinterest photo of Troi which has been making the rounds for years, which you'll have to google for yourself, I run a clean ship here)! Then we do a real time review of the trailer and give our opinions on Tilly's black goo, Pike in command, the Red Angel, what seems to be the changing perspective from Burnham as the lead to a more ensemble season, and then we address the Targ in the room..unshaven Spock!

And look for another bonus episode next week when we review the most recent Star Trek Short Trek The Brightest Star!

Back in 2001, I sat down to watch Enterprise and after maybe three episodes, I decided it was just a big turkey, so it seemed appropriate to release our Red Shirts review of this series on Thanksgiving! Now, I don't want any Enterprise fans to beat the stuffing out of me, but that was my honest opinion back then! But I, your Red Shirts captain, decided to give it another try, sat down and watched every episode from "Broken Bow" to "These Are The Voyages" on Netflix. What motivated me to give this series a second chance? I discuss this with my fellow Red Shirts as well as give our review of an episode that marked a turning point for me: Fallen Hero. As you expand your waistlines, listen as some of us expand our minds and give this series a second opportunity to prove itself!

After another long respite, the RED SHIRTS crew convenes once again to review the new STAR TREK SHORT TREKS episode entitled CALYPSO. We give our no-holds barred, unprejudiced, objective opinions on both the episode and CBS All Access, which Commander Big Sexy has some definite issues with! Well, maybe some of it is subjective, but it is what it is! We touch on rumors of a FIFTH Star Trek series starring Michelle Yeoh?? And our stalwart starship, the U.S.S. Internet finally gets a registry number!

The crew of the U.S.S. Internet is finally reunited for some high level discourse on Star Trek Discovery! A new trailer for Season 2 and the first of four 15 minute shorts are the focus of our discussion on this mission. Q provided a solo review which you can see here on YouTube: https://goo.gl/SSAKDP but now Craig J. is on deck to give his report! Then Big Sexy joins in as we review the new trailer that dropped from Comic-con this past weekend. All three of us scan this thing with our tricorders, break it down to its subatomic particles and give our takes on what looks to be another action-packed season. We still have until January 19th before Season 2 begins, but the Red Shirts are reporting for duty right now!

We got the first of four 15 minute Star Trek Discovery shorts, this one entitled "Runaway" featuring character favorite Sylvia Tilley, played by Mary Wiseman. Here's my review, no-holds barred!

Star Trek returns with four short ten minute films, so fire up CBS All Access (translation: re-subscribe) and once again go where no one has gone before...ten minutes at a time over four months.

Apologies for the delay but we are decidedly back with a blockbuster episode featuring Robb Gallo and Tom Connor of Midnight's Edge on YouTube! This episode was recorded over two weeks ago, but Robb and Tom have beamed aboard the U.S.S. Internet with a trove of behind the scenes information about Star Trek Discovery, the recently announced Picard series, the fate of the Star Trek movies, and much more! We're making up for our absence with nearly two hours of information and no-holds barred opinion! Fasten your seatbelts...wait, this is the U.S.S. Internet, not a Sovereign class starship, no seatbelts...sorry (go watch the deleted scenes from Star Trek Nemesis to get that joke)!

It's Captain Q and Big Sexy minus Craig J. as we undergo our latest mission into the Delphic Expanse (yes, I'm currently watching Enterprise on Netflix). We had to launch at the last minute due to the breaking news we just received: PATRICK STEWART IS RETURNING TO STAR TREK! Break out the vintage Chateau Picard, this is cause for celebration...or is it cause for concern? On this episode, we discuss Stewart's return, what stories could possibly be told regarding a 78 year-old Starfleet officer and best of all: what guest stars would we hope Sir Patrick will convince to apear?! We also address some potential nonsense regarding a rumor of the Borg queen's appearance on Discovery! So beam on up to the U.S.S. Internet, grab a glass of LaBarre's best and join in the conversation!

We at THE RED SHIRTS offer our sincere apologies for the delay in programming. One of our members had a passing in the family which put things on hold for a some time. The following episode was recorded a month ago, but shelved until now, so new developments in Trek news may have occurred since the recording.

It's just Capt. Qstorm and Big Sexy piloting the USS Internet throughout the quadrant at warp 9 on this outing! But you're welcome to beam aboard as we discuss Star Trek Deep Space Nine in the first part of this two-parter! Big Sexy was already a big fan of the series, I was definitely NOT a fan when it first ran in syndication...but now that I've watched the entire series on Netflix, I wanted to share my opinions on this popular Trek series. But before we get into that, we discuss a trove of Trek news: Star Trek 4, three new Trek series, and developments on a possible Tarantino Trek movie! A lot of ground to cover, so let's set a course !

If you haven't seen the TOS episode The Conscience Of The King, then this episode contains mild spoilers. Given that that program was aired in the late Sixties, there shouldn't be any spoilers for you at all, unless you're new to Star Trek, in which case, welcome! I give my review of the latest Discovery tie-in novel Drastic Measures! Please note: this is an episode formatted for YouTube, so there are moments that contain title cards which have no audio.

Shakespeare, Steinbeck, Ralph Ellison...all masters at their craft. Then there's Harlan Ellison, Gene L. Coon, and D.C. Fontana, the masters who wrote City On The Edge Of Forever, widely considered the best Star Trek episode of the entire TV franchise. With the help of comic book writer and Red Shirt fan emeritus Dallas Casavant, The Red Shirts delve into reviewing this classic episode of the original series today,May 27, coincidentally the birthday of writer Harlan Ellison. We get into a little bit of comic book talk and the crew nearly mutinies when Q reveals a guilty TV  pleasure!

So much Trek to get into that we created TREK TALK version 2! We discuss new cast members on the next season of Discovery, including possibly a young pointy-eared, pasty-faced half-alien with a bowl cut, perhaps? We delve into Star Trek 4 and Trek history being made with the hiring of a female director on a Trek film for the first time (in 40 years, sheesh)! We speculate how the arrival of the Enterprise might affect continuity within Discovery, Qstorm gives out little morsels about the Star Trek Discovery tie-in novels Desperate Hours and Drastic Measures. And as a bonus, Qstorm schools Big Sexy on the basics of filmmaking! There's so much in this episode, we need a tank of transparent aluminum to contain it!

Apologies for the delay in episodes, but we are back! And to quote Picard, "We have engaged the Borg!" The Red Shirts are all onboard with our first ever audio commentary for Star Trek First Contact. All you have to do is set your player at the 2:45 mark (two minutes, 45 seconds...right before the camera pulls out from Picard's eye/pupil), you'll hear me countdown from 3, 2, 1, then PLAY and we're off and running saving planet Earth! This was a long time coming and it was a blast to do, so hopefully you'll enjoy our comments, observations, protestations, etc. Let us know what you think! We may just do another one (Final Frontier, anyone?)

What can I say? Our navigator took a wrong turn into the Badlands, we got flung into the Gamma quadrant, took us a month to get back (Janeway says "Hi"). But we're back...and in that time, we've all had a chance to watch and re-watch this premiere season of DSC as well as the finale. Now it's time to discuss! This episode, we beam aboard Stephen Bates, host of the Just The Two Of Us Podcast; he brings some incisive insight to the proceedings! We review the season overall, the finale, things we liked, things we disliked (Ceti Alpha V eels?), what we want to see next season and a lot more. Plus, in non-Trek news, we give our quick takes on the Black Panther phenomenon and we spend a brief moment reflecting on Star Trek's promising outlook on the future in the wake of the tragic events in Florida.

Yes, the Red Shirts' latest mission was delayed due to an encounter with the I.S.S. Internet, I almost had to stab Mirror Craig J. in the damn turbolift and Mirror Big Sexy is trapped in an agonizer right about now. But your captain is present and accounted for! On deck today: we discuss the return of Discovery! But even before we get into that, we touch on the #MeToo movement and its connection to Star Trek, I present a wacky theory about the connection of DSC Klingons to TOS Klingons, then we get into Black Mirror: CALLISTER! And somehow, we wind up talking about HBO's Westworld?? Last, but not least, we discuss if CBS All Access is worth paying for, once DSC wraps up its first season. We're behind a couple episodes, but we're still right on time!
